Jody Kidwell was understudying the principle lead in La Perichole for the Philadelphia Opera. She telephoned me on Monday the 14th January,
2002, to say she might have to sing that night.
Loretta Crosthwaite sang Josephine in the Music Theatre of Denton’s recent production of
H.M.S Pinafore.
Sheila Harms was invited to sing at a friend’s wedding reception on January 19,
2002. She presented a program consisting of Puccini arias and other favorite music of the bride.
We heard from our protégé Andrea Huber over in Germany and Austria. Andrea has been singing the part of Iduna in an operetta by P. Burkhard called
Das Feuerwerk to great acclaim, in my old stomping grounds of Baden bei Wien. (Baden used to be where the Russians had their headquarters during the occupation of Austria. Franz Schubert used to live near there, too.)
Mary Kay McGarvey has just made a CD. So has Leslie Williams.
We are so proud of all our protégés. |
